Dan Jenkins' love affair with college football in general, and TCU
in particular, began on Nov. 30, 1935. The sportswriter's passion
for "the most emotional, colorful and hysterical game ever
developed by mankind and Walter Camp" endures to this day.
Football players stood on either side of the line, staring each
other down with competitive tenacity. On one side, the Aggies stood
in their maroon and white. On the other, the Longhorns stood
covered in orange.
